New Business-

  • Treasurer’s Report-Brenda, copy to all. Grant submitted, Dee contact person.. Auction Expenses-$675 for plaques (collected with dues though).
  • Spring Horse Show-Ellen, she is done! Putting together guide for next show. Mew form not specific to spring or fall show. CD will have forms/rules etc.  Ellen happy to go to meeting to help out. Need 17/18 to run but not entire day.  All members need to be aware they need to be there, not an option. Field day, most showed. Members billed if don’t work field days. For future shows, ask people what job they want? Shut down trail class at noon-only one pinning. Will put all suggestions in directions. Show Jump schedule ran well, timing good. Gamblers choice too long. Games, bareback dollar not need be an hour, redo times. Liked plant the flower. So many people say favorite show! 2 new people we need to get back to them, very enthusiastic-call them-make sure know educational program, not lesson, and lots of work, not a service. Some people always want pony rides-FORBIDDEN. Have pony club brochures at show. Maybe buy an ad in the future with a coupon. A relaxed day, very successful, and our kids had a great time.
  • X-Country, not hosting, take off website. May deadline not going to work..
  • Dee talk to Billy Willard about moving crop in.
  • Show Jump program-needs help. Need person to accept calls? Get old ads people. Look similar to last year’s.  NEED MEMBERS TO SELL ADS!! Everybody expected to sell 2. Send out to all regions. Margaret to sell some ads, she is good at that? Morven Park have ad links-Leesburg businesses, MacIntosh, Tony Koerber, Haley, etc. Email everyone where you go so we don’t double up. 175 programs circulated. Packet on website.
  • Show Jump Day-June 3. Sarah Brennan hired to judge. Coach for assessment. Dee D. to set course and coach. Ribbons/judge necessary? Dee D. advise kids/judge kids in equitation. Most important part of day, set course and assess riding so pick divisions-coach’s job. Must come if competing. Welcome to come even if not competing.
  • Ratings-Elizabeth, Finished D2/D3 with Allison, all passed. C1 with Fran on Sunday.  Yvette Seger awesome with preps-want to use her again. Keeping log of raters. Can’t use rater 3/6 months before. Put out rate in fall, H/M books together etc.
  • US Qualifying information, Elizabeth sent out.
  • Rallies-Eventing-Shannon
  • Games, 1 Rising Star, 1 Seniors, 1 Juniors. Get kits together.  Team captains need assistance.
  • Show Jump-heights sending out. Not doing the food-yeah.
  • Quiz Nationals-if going contact Kathleen by May 20th.
  • Show Jump-2 teams probably. Age 8 and D2 requirement. Kathleen needs to know by June 1st. Paperwork by June 6. Figure out levels on SJ Day.
  • Field-pay Lynn for gas? Make a schedule-Dee. Build info sign? Tape at end of SJ ring. Loft in shed? Locks for ring gates-Dee. Work day with men and tools. Laurel planted black-eyed susans and a flag-cool.
  • X-country-build a x-country day? Tim moving stuff for Kevin. Fixing-maybe a new grass planted would work?
  • Roberta-Ledos May 18th, pregames pep rally!

 

Lessons-etiquette/behavior issues at games. Proper shoes, no jewelry, laying on horses, no shorts, cell phones, letting go of horse, riding without helmet. Jo having hard time getting them focused sometimes.  Safety the paramount issue.
