-Roberta and Cheryl are working on winter lessons. They are looking towards February to get more kids involved in the lessons.
-our 1st mounted rally will be games rally on May 18th
-Julie is looking for a games coach.
-Roberta suggested we start the kids out unmounted in someone’s basement to get things started and teach the kids the rules of the game.
-Elizabeth suggested we shoot for getting a coach that could come to our quiz session where we will cover games and foxhunting. It could be a nice opportunity to meet the kids and so an unmounted session with them. The tentative date is Feb. 14th (or 16th)
-Show jumping rally is June 27 – 29th. We are looking into possible indoor rings for the lessons. Marissa will check out Great and Small; Good News is available on Sat. and Sunday evenings only – after 5pm.
-talked about maybe having 2 coaches this year if we have as many kids going to SJ rally as last year.
-Laura asked to please keep the southern states seals coming in!!
-Treasurer’s Report: we currently have a balance of $11,158
-receipts are still coming in from the banquet…but we brought in $712 from the auction, and $540 for the dinner.
-a huge thank you to Diana for all her hard work on the banquet this year!!
-Brenda circulated a treasurers report form that she would like everyone to use that takes in money for things like the banquet, lessons, d camp, fun day etc. She will email the form out to the club so everyone has a copy they can print off as they need it. They will be asked to fill it out and send it back to – this will greatly help her with her bookkeeping – and she wont have to keep trying to read our minds!
-we have a few potential new members that will attend out quiz sessions in the next couple of weeks.
-quiz sessions are being taught by Dee D., Yvette and Haley. Roberta is looking into more possibilities to get sessions taught to the D3/C level kids.
-Laura has insured 3 sites so far for the club for 2008.
-quiz paperwork due to Roberta on Feb. 11th!
-Reminder to everyone about the upcoming equestrian meeting at Woodstock at Owens Park, Jan. 28, 7pm.
Field maintenance: Lynn and Kathleen will try to keep track of the hours that folks volunteer up at the field. Julie will have a log to keep track also. This year we will put out a notice to the club about field days….if folks cannot make it, they can email us for a list of items they can do when they are available. The goal is to get everyone to pitch in to help with the field this year!
-Elizabeth asked that everyone pitch in and buy the Mane and Tail shampoo that is a fundraiser for the Capital Region - $15/bottle
-the meeting was adjourned.
