First Annual Potomac Pony Club Judged Trail Ride

On October 1,2005 the Potomac Pony Club held a major fund raising event at our field in Boyds, Maryland. The event was a big success and riders going through the course had a lot of fun. This day took the effort of the entire club to organize, make obstacles, man them, run the Blue Ribbon Cafe, commentate, and register and coordinate the riders. Much thanks goes to Ellen Gordon who headed up this enormous task and made it the success that it was. Now that the Trail Ride has been introduced to the riding community the 2nd Annual Ride should go even smoother and raise more money for the club. PPC Hosts Capital Region Polocrosse Rally

On November 6th, 2005 the Potomac Pony Club hosted the Capital Region Polocrosse Rally at the Potomac Pony Club Field in Boyds, Maryland. Two teams competed in the Advanced Division, three teams in the Intermediate Horse Division and two teams in the Walk/Trot Division. The weather was beautiful and the teams were very competitive. It was a great day to see the speed and precision of the Advanced riders, the spirit and competiveness of the Intermediates and the enthusiasm and persistence of the up and coming Walk/Trot Division. Results of the day are as follows:

Advanced Horse Division

Rebels and a Yank: 1st Place HM, 1st Team Overall - qualified for Nationals!!!

Nick w/ Chix: 1st Place HM, 1st Place Team Overall - qualified for Nationals!!!

Thanks to the Cook family, Laura Molsky and Kathleen Balogh for all of their hard work in organizing the rally and to all of the other PPC families that pitched in to make it a very successful day!

On a separate note: many visitors had a lot of nice things to say about the improvements to the field over the last year.

Giant Foods Fund Raising Program
In the Giant Food Certificate Program the Potomac Pony club earns 4% on orders of $1,000 dollars or more of Giant Cards. This is how it
happens; I take the orders from the club members, the members write out a check to Potomac Pony Club and let me know what denominations of cards you would like. The available denominations are: $10, $20, $25, $50, and $100. After I have orders totaling more than $1000 I turn in the individual checks to the treasurer and get one check for Giant then phone order the cards which are usually ready within 3 - 4 days of the order. After that I find the best way to get the cards to you in a timely manner. I would like it if members could turn in their orders at the monthly meetings then I can get the cards to you within 2 weeks of that. Let me know if you have any questions.
